RANGPUR, Mar 8, 2025 (BSS) - The joint forces arrested Jubo League leader Nur Alam Rinku from the city's bus terminal area early this morning under the ongoing Operation Devil Hunt (ODH).

"Arrested Nur Alam Rinku is the organizing secretary of Rangpur Metropolitan Jubo League," Rangpur Metropolitan Kotwali Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md. Ataur Rahman told BSS this afternoon.

Rinku was arrested in a case filed in connection with the attacks on the processions of the anti-discrimination student-people's movement in the city during the July-August uprising.

He had been in hiding since the fall of Hasina's fascist regime, which committed genocide in the July-August student and people's uprising.

Based on a tip-off, the joint forces arrested Rinku from the city's bus terminal area.

"After completing the legal process, we will produce Rinku before the local court in the afternoon," the OC added.
