Patients to get free medical services from Memon hospital: Ctg mayor

CHATTOGRAM, March 8, 2025 (BSS) - City Mayor Dr. Shahadat Hossain said he wants to
develop Memon Matrisadan Hospital as a unique healthcare facility so that patients could get
medical services at free of cost.
 
“If the initiative for modernization plan of the hospital is completed, it will be a huge
opportunity for the poor and helpless people of Chattogram,” he added.
 
Dr Shahadat said these while inaugurating operation of newly installed 10 types of modern
equipments in the CCC-run healthcare center on Saturday.
 
 The Medical equipments are diathermy machine, reflective phototherapy (double), infant
radiant warmer, infant incubator, LED operation theater light, biochemistry analyzer,
hematology analyzer, suction machine and tabletop centrifuge.
 
 “We are working to develop the hospital’s infrastructure, enrich with necessary medical
equipments and recruit new manpower. The required number of doctors, nurses and midwives
will be recruited in the hospital so that proper services to the ailing people can be ensured,” the
Mayor said.
 
Dr Shahadat said a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) will also be set up in the hospital to
ensure better treatment of newborn babies.
 
 CCC Chief Executive Officer Sheikh Muhammad Touhidul Islam, Chief Health Officer Imam
Hossain Rana, Dr. Hosne Ara, Dr. Didarul Munir, Dr. Rahima Khatun, Dr. Fahmida Silvi, Dr. Bobli
Mallika and Assistant Engineer Rubel Chandra Das, among others, were present on the
