BSF hands over body of Bangladeshi killed on Sylhet frontier

SYLHET, March 9, 2025 (BSS) - Indian Border Security Force (BSF) has handed over the body of a Bangladeshi youth who was killed in an attack by Khasia people in India when he illegally entered that country through Kanaighat border on early Friday.


The victim identified as Shahed Ahmed is the son of Moshahid Ali from Mangalpur village in Kanaighat upazila, said Kanaighat Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md Abu Sayem today.


After a flag meeting between the Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) and BSF in the Barachhara area near the Bangladesh-India border, the BSF personnel handed over bullet-hit body of Shahed to BGB, the OC added. 


The body will be handed over to the family by maintaining legal procedure, he said.
