KURIGRAM, March 9, 2025 (BSS) - Two friends were killed when a truck hit their motorbike in Nirashir Patar area under Ulipur upazila of the district this afternoon.
 
The deceased were Sourav Ali, 19, son of Abu Bakkar Siddique of Minabazar Dhenkiaram area under Pandul union of the upazila and Plabon Mia, 18, son of Bakiyat Ali of the same area. Both are the HSC examinees of Kurigram Collectorate School and College.
 
The accident took place when a tractor hit their motorcycle from behind, leaving its rider Sourav dead on the spot and pillion Plabon injured, said Zillur Rahman, officer-in-charge of Ulipur Police Station.
 
Critically injured Plabon was taken to Ulipur hospital where on-duty doctor declared him dead.
