Two food shops fined in Lakshmipur

LAKSHMIPUR, March 11, 2025 (BSS) - A mobile court fined two food shops Taka 
1.10 lakh in Sadar upazila here last night on charge of adulteration.

The mobile court, led by Sadar Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Md. Jamshed Alam 
Rana, conducted a raid at Akshay Store and fined Taka 1,00000 and at Jamal 
Bakery and fined Taka 10,000 for producing food in an unhygienic environment.

The shops were fined for stocking, supplying and selling a huge amount of 
adulterated food items including low-quality adulterated baby food, fake 
Chashi Bhai rice and Banaful Laccha Semai.

District Food Officer Dr. Sumadhu Chakraborty, Sadar and Kamalnagar Upazila 
Food Inspectors Tajul Islam and Riaz Uddin, along with the army and police 
were present during the drive.

UNO Jamshed Alam Rana said the drive is being conducted every day by the 
district and upazila administrations to prevent any kind of fraud with 
consumers and control the market price of goods.
