Goats distributed among fishermen in Rangamati

RANGAMATI, March 12, 2025 (BSS) - Fisheries department distributed goats 
among 40 registered fishermen of the district under the Fisheries Development 
Project in the Chittagong Hill Tracts region.

Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Habib Ullah distributed the goats as the chief 
guest among the fishermen at a function held at Sadar Upazila Parishad 
auditorium at 11 am.

The goats were distributed among the fishermen for creating alternative 
employment opportunities in the 2024-2025 fiscal year under the Fisheries 
Development Project in the Chittagong Hill Tracts region.

Sadar Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Rifat Asma presided over the event.

Assistant Commissioner (Land) of Sadar upazila Rubaiya Binte Kashem, Sadar 
Upazila Education Officer Touhid Talukder, Project Director of Fisheries 
Development Project in Chittagong Hill Tracts Agriculturist Tofazzal Hossain 
Fahim and Senior Upazila Fisheries Officer Sheikh Md Ershad Bin Shahid were 
present, among others.

A total of 160 goats were distributed among 40 registered fishermen of the 
district each with four goats.
