Ex-KCC councilor arrested

KHULNA, March 12, 2025 (BSS) - Khulna Metropolitan Police (KMP) arrested former councilor of Khulna City Corporation (KCC) and member of ward Awami League Sheikh Khalid Ahmed on Tuesday.

A team of Khalishpur thana police conducted a drive at his residence at Padma Oil Road in the city last evening and arrested him, said Md Ahsan Habib, additional deputy commissioner of KMP (In-Charge of Media) today. 

During the drive, Khalid attempted to escape by jumping from the roof of his house but he fell down and broke his right leg.
 
Later, he was admitted to the prison cell of Khulnsa Medical College Hospital (KMCH).

Khalid was accused in three cases over vandalizing Khalishpur thana unit BNP office and assaulting party leaders and activists, said Md Rafiqul Islam, officer-in-charge (OC) of Khalishpur police station.
