1.92 lakh children to get Vitamin A Plus capsules in Manikganj

MANIKGANJ, March 12, 2025 (BSS) –  Around 1.92 lakh children of the
district aged between six to 59 months will be fed vitamin 'A' Plus capsule under
the National Vitamin A Plus Campaign on March 15.

Vitamin A capsules will be fed in 65 unions and two municipalities in seven
upazilas of the district, said acting civil surgeon Dr. Md. Anisur Rahman.

The campaign will be conducted under the auspices of the Public Health and
Nutrition Institute and National Nutrition Services under the Ministry of Health
and Family Planning with the assistance of UNICEF.

The acting civil surgeon said, “We have completed all necessary preparations to
make the National Vitamin A Plus campaign a success.”

He said 3,222 workers and volunteers will provide Vitamin A Plus capsules at
1,604 centres in seven upazilas and two municipalities on Saturday from 8 am to
4 pm.

Of the total, 21,245 children aged between six to 11 months will be given blue
capsules and 1,70,861 children aged between 12 to 59 months will be given red
vitamin A capsules.

The civil surgeon specially called upon the parents to bring their kids to the
outreach centres with a full stomach to feed them Vitamin A capsule as
immunization with an empty stomach might cause nausea.
