KHULNA, March 12, 2025 (BSS) - Khulna Metropolitan Police (KMP) will take strict security measures maintaining law and order situation ahead the holy Eid-ul-Fitr.

"The security measures include the introduction of an innovative 'Money Escort' service for cash security, as well as ensuring the safety of cash transactions during purchasing, selling, and business activities", Md Ahsan Habib, BPM, Additional Deputy Commissioner (Media) of KMP, told BSS today.

Anyone transporting a large amount of money can avail themselves of `Money Escort' service by contacting a nearby police station, the KMP control room, or the national emergency service helpline 999.

Around 409 uniformed and plainclothes cops will remain vigilant inside and outside all shopping malls and a special police force will patrol all important places, including 20 important Eidgahs, before the Eid Jamaat.

All KMP police stations and police outposts have been asked to patrol at 65 Eidgahs and 382 mosque premises before Eid Jamaat.

Besides, Special Forces will be deployed at the main Eidgah at Khulna Circuit House Maidan, Town Jame Mosque, and other Eidgahs, where Eid Jamaat will be held for Ahle Hadith and Kadiani communities.

A total of 6 checkposts will set up at all city's entry points, along with 30 to 35 CCTV cameras, archway gates, and surveillance at all important places, said Md Ahsan Habib.

To raise awareness and prevent unwanted incidents, KMP has advised people to be extra cautious while withdrawing and transporting cash.

He suggested staying alert at traffic signals, avoiding deserted alleys and opting for busy roads, conducting transactions at banks that have CCTV surveillance, not carrying cash alone but with a trusted companion, keeping money in multiple bags instead of one, and being vigilant after leaving the bank to check if anyone follows.

He also said that KMP has been maintaining tight security since the beginning of holy Ramadan.
