BOGURA, March 13, 2025 (BSS) - Three friends were killed as a truck hit their motorbike in the Dharmokam area under Sherpur upazila of the district.

The deceased were Naeem Islam, 21, son of Badsha Mia, Rifat Rahman, 22, son of Liton and Selim Hossain, 22, son of Siddique. All of them were the residents of Koyerkhali village in Khanpur union of the upazila.

When they were going to home on a motorbike through Dhaka-Rangpur highway during Iftar, their bike fell on the road after losing control, said Inspector Azizul Haque, in-charge of Highway Police Sherpur Police Station, adding as soon as they fell on the road, a truck crushed them. 

They were taken to the Sherpur Upazila Health Complex where, on-duty doctor declared Naeem dead.

Later, Selim and Rifat were shifted to Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College Hospital, where they died while undergoing treatment at night.

Efforts are underway to identify the killer truck and its driver, police said.
