KHULNA, March 13 (BSS) - A total of 2,01,060 children aged between 6-59 months will be fed Vitamin A plus capsule here in the district on March 15, as a part of the national medical campaign.
Officials of the District Civil Surgeon Office spoke detailing the campaign across the district at a workshop with local journalists at Khulna School Health Clinic this morning.
Presiding over the meeting, Civil Surgeon Dr Mahfuza Khatun said a group of volunteers and a few monitoring teams will administer Vitamin A plus capsules at 1,641 centres at all nine upazilas including two municipalities and a metropolitan under the district from 8:00am to 4:00pm on Saturday.
"Special measures will be taken to feed vitamin A capsules to under-five babies at bus stands, rail stations and other convenient places to make the campaign a complete success in the district," she said.
Among others, medical officer of civil surgeon office and coordinator of the campaign Dr Dolena Khatun, assistant officer of regional PID Atikur Rahman, convener of Khulna Enamul Haque and district health superintendent Jayanta Nath Chakraborty attended the meeting.
Besides, at least 1.22 lakhs children aging the same will be fed Vitamin A plus capsule in Khulna City Corporation (KCC).
