3.36 lakh children to get Vitamin A Plus capsules in Jamalpur

JAMALPUR, March 13, 2025 (BSS) - Around 3.36 lakh children of the district aged between six and 59 months will be fed vitamin 'A' Plus capsule under the National Vitamin A Plus Campaign on March 15.

"We have completed all necessary preparations to make the National Vitamin A Plus campaign a success," said civil surgeon Dr Md Azizul Haque this afternoon.

He said as Vitamin A one of the most important micronutrients for child survival, growth and vision, massive awareness was created to make the campaign success.

He said each of 37,487 children including 142 disabled children aged from 6 to 11 months will be administered blue coloured vitamin A capsule.

Beside each of the 2,98,587 children including 528 disabled aged from 12 to 59 months will be fed red coloured vitamin A capsule during the campaign in the district.

The civil surgeon said to make the campaign a success a total of 1,704 centers have been set up in the district of which 1,692 temporary centers and 12 permanent centers.
