Around 2,000 families getting essentials at subsidized price in Bagerhat

BAGERHAT, March 13, 2025 (BSS) - People in the Bagerhat Municipal Town are feeling relieved as the Trading Corporation of Bangladesh (TCB) is selling essentials to around 2,000 families at subsidized prices during the holy month of Ramadan.

Talking to BSS, Tariq Rahman, assistant commissioner of trade and investment wing, said people are purchasing TCB products at subsidized price from five spots of the municipality including Basabati Amtala, Shaltala Mor, PC College Road, Jadunath Institute and Police Superintendent's Office Road. 

In every spot, TCB is selling its products among 400 families and each family can easily buy 1 kg chickpeas, 1 kg sugar, 2 kg pulses and 2kg soybean oil at Tk 450, he added. 

He mentioned that every day they stand in line and submit photocopy of NID card and can easily buy package goods. 

Bagerhat Deputy Commissioner Ahmed Kamrul Hasan said thinking about the holy month of Ramadan, the government has taken this programme so that the common people can comfortably observe fasting through TCB products.
