Two students among three killed in Ctg road accident

CHATTOGRAM, March 13, 2025 (BSS) - Three people, including two students, were killed as a speedy bus hit a battery-run rickshaw in the Dohazari Sadar area on the Chattogram-Cox's Bazar highway under Chandanaish upazila here this morning.

The deceased were identified as Wakar Uddin Adil, 12, his elder sister Rizvi Akter, 16, children of Jashim Uddin from Jamir Juri Chairman Bari and rickshaw puller Ruhul Amin, 45, son of late Amanat Ullah from Chan Gazi Bari of the same area. 

Shuvo Ranjan Chakma, officer-in-charge (OC) of Dohazari Highway Police Station, informed Adil was a seventh-grade student at Pathshala Public School and College, while Rizvi was a ninth-grade student at the same institution. 

When the students were going for coaching classes on a battery-run rickshaw, a reckless Chattogram-bound Purabi Paribahan bus from Bandarban rammed into the rickshaw from behind, killing a student and the driver on the spot.

Another student succumbed to injuries on the way to the hospital. Another student who sustained injuries in the accident has been taken to the Chattogram Medical College Hospital.

Police seized the bus, but the driver and helper managed to flee, he added.
