Eight institutions fined Tk 3 lakh for air pollution in Narayanganj

NARAYANGANJ, March 13, 2025 (BSS) – The Directorate of Environment conducted an operation in Fatullah, Narayanganj today to curb air pollution, imposing fines totaling Taka 3 lakh on eight institutions.

Executive Magistrate and Senior Assistant Secretary of the Monitoring and Enforcement Wing of the Department of Environment, Abdullah Al-Mamun led the operation with the support of Narayanganj district police and officials of the environment directorate.

A total of eight institutions were fined Tk 3 lakh during the operation for air pollution, violating the article 7 (3) of the Air Pollution Control law-2021, under the law of article 15(2) of 1995.

The fined institutions are - Popi and Sons, M/S Juwel Enterprise, M/S Abdullah Kuddus and Sons, AR Enterprise, M/S Piyas Enterprise, Anita Borik Center , Tammana Enterprise and M/S Abdullah Rahman Traders and Transport.

The Environment directorate said that this kind of operation will continue in future to control air pollution in the city.
