37 including 15 AL activists arrested in Dinajpur

DINAJPUR, April 22, 2025(BSS)- Police have arrested a total of 37 people including 15 leaders and activists of Awami League (AL) and a life-term convict from the district in the last 24 hours.

Inspector Md Mahmudul Alam of the District Special Branch told BSS, "Police conducted raids in different areas of 13 thanas of the district from yesterday (Monday) noon to this noon to apprehend those accused."

Among them, 15 were arrested in political cases, 11 in drug cases and one was a life-term convict, the Inspector said.

Besides, police arrested another nine persons including warrantees from the area during the same time.

All the arrested persons were produced before the court of Senior Judicial Magistrate, Dinajpur Sadar and the court ordered to send them all to jail.

Sources said that the police have started special drives across the country from April 1 and it will continue till April 30.
