World Autism Awareness Day observed in Jhalokathi

JHALOKATHI, April 22, 2025 (BSS) - The World Autism Awareness Day 2025 was observed here in the district today like elsewhere in the country.

This year's theme of the day is "Welcoming Neurodiversity, Building a Sustainable Society."

To mark the day, Jhalokathi district administration and SWID Bangladesh Autistic School jointly held a discussion at the auditorium of the school.

Head teacher of the school Lutfunessa presided over the discussion and additional deputy commissioner (education and ICT) Shakila Rahman attended it as the chief guest.

Superintendent of police Uzzal Kumar Ray, district civil surgeon Mohammad Humayun Kabir and deputy director of social services department Shahpar Parveen spoke at the event as the special guests. 

They promoted awareness about autism with an aim to build an inclusive society.
