Two get life term in Pirojpur murder case

PIROJPUR, April 23, 2025 (BSS) - A court here today sentenced two people to life-term imprisonment in a murder case in Bhandaria upazila of the district in 2008.
 
Additional District and Sessions Judge Md. Moktagir Alam announced the verdict this afternoon.
 
The court also fined them Taka 50,000 each, in default, to suffer another six months of rigorous imprisonment.
 
The convicts are Md. Hachan Howlader, 35, son of Majid Howlader of Golbunia village in Bhandaria upazila and Prince Molla, 42, son of Sirajul Islam of Ghonapara village under Kashiani police station in Gopalganj.
 
According to the prosecution, the convicts went to Charkhali from Safa Port riding Emdadul Farazi's rented motorcycle on March 3, 2008. Later, they killed driver Emdadul and fled with the motorcycle.
 
The deceased's father Khan Jahan Ali filed a murder case with Bhandaria Police Station the next day. 
 
The investigation officer of the case submitted the charge sheet to the court on April 25 of the same year.
 
After taking the testimonies of 13 witnesses in the case, the judge found the two accused guilty and delivered the verdict.
