Rangpur trade fair stresses quality production to develop local industries

RANGPUR, May 8, 2025 (BSS) - Maintaining international standards while producing quality products is crucial to meet the challenges of globalization, develop local industries, expand businesses and increase exports.
 
Local industrialists and trade body leaders expressed the view at the launching ceremony of the month-long 'Rangpur Industry and Trade Fair- 2025' held at the Rangpur Cricket Garden ground on Wednesday afternoon.
 
Rangpur Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RMCCI) is organising the fair where 120 stalls have been set up by local entrepreneurs, industries, bodies and organisations.
 
RMCCI president Golam Zakaria Pintu inaugurated the fair by releasing balloons and cutting ribbons as the chief guest in the ceremony.
 
RMCCI vice-presidents Md. Nurul Islam Patu and Md. Rubayet Hossain Khan, directors Md. Aslam, Sabbir Ahmed, Md. Akhteruzzaman Maula, Md. Abdur Razzak, Md. Ayub Ali, Syed Shah Newaz Ali, and other directors and leaders attended the event.
 
The speakers emphasized the development of local small, medium and cottage industries and creation of employment opportunities for unemployed youth for development of local and national economies by encouraging local entrepreneurs.
 
They suggested increasing the production of quality products to expand business at the district, regional and national levels, as well as increasing exports abroad.
 
They said the fair will play an important role in encouraging local small and medium-sized industries and entrepreneurs, creating employment, developing the local economy and providing recreational opportunities for citizens.
 
RMCCI President Golam Zakaria Pintu said that the fair has been organized to promote locally produced products and increase trade and commerce.
 
"Also, various rides have been brought to the fair for children. There are shops selling different products as well as food stalls. I hope people of all ages can come and enjoy the fair," he said.
 
He said, "The Eid holidays are coming up. The fair can be a good place to spend time with family and friends. All kinds of security measures have been taken, including the installation of CCTV cameras, for the safety of those coming to the fair."
