NCRP dive in Chuadanga against adulterated baby food

CHUADANGA, May 08, 2025 (BSS) - Department of National Consumer Rights Protection (NCRP) has fined some grocery shops here for selling adulterated baby foods.

A team of NCRP conducted the drive in Barobazar and Nicherbazar and fined a shop Taka 25,000 for selling adulterated baby food in the name of different brands.

Assistant Director of NCRP in Chuadanga district Mamunur Rashid said based on secret information the NCRP team conducted the raid from 11am to 12:30 pm today.

The team checked essential products, food items particularly baby foods as part of the NCRP’s regular drive, he said.

The team fined M/s Tajmul Store Taka 25,000 under section 37 of the Consumer Rights Protection Act, 2009 and seized four sacks of juice bars, which were destroyed later.

District Safe Food Officer Sajib Paul, student representative Mushfiqur Rahim, district sanitary officer Golam Faruque, bazaar committee members and members of the law enforcing agencies were present.
