4 of family among 5 killed in Munshiganj road accident

MUNSHIGANJ, May 8, 2025 (BSS) - Five people, including four members of the same family, were killed in a road accident on the Dhaka-Mawa Expressway in the Nimtala area this afternoon.

The deceased were identified as Samad Fakir, 60, his son Hafez Billal, 40, wife Shahida Begum, 35, daughter Afsana, 20, and ambulance driver Mahbubul Sardar, 28. Samad Fakir was a resident of Dakshin Tutkhali village in Madaripur Sadar upazila.

Officer-in-Charge of Sirajdikhan Police Station Md Shahed Al Mamun said a Dhaka-bound ambulance was parked on the roadside for repair when a bus hit the vehicle around 1pm, leaving Shahida Begum dead on the spot and injuring five others.

The injured were taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital, where four of them succumbed to their injuries.
