Two teenagers killed in Panchagarh road accident

PANCHAGARH, May 9, 2025 (BSS) - Two teenagers were killed as a stone-laden truck hit them in the Char Talar More area adjacent to Lakshmirhat Bazar under Debiduba union of Debiganj upazila in the district last night.

The deceased were identified as Sanjay Chandra Roy, 14, son of Rajkumar of Bhulli Para area of Pamuli union of Debiganj upazila and Anik Chandra Roy, 13, son of Atul Barman of the same area.

According to local sources, Sanjay was returning home riding on a bicycle with his uncle Anik. When they reached Char Talar More intersection in Lakshmihat, a stone-laden truck ran over them from behind, leaving them critically injured. 

Locals took them to Debiganj Upazila Health Complex, where the duty doctor declared them dead, the sources added.

Debiganj Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Sohel Rana said the killer truck was seized and its driver and helper were nabbed.

A case against them with Debiganj Police Station, he added.

The bodies have been handed over to their families, OC said.
