KHULNA, May 11, 2025 (BSS) – Police today arrested Livana Parveen, vice-president of the city unit women Awami League (AL), from her residence in connection with an extortion and looting case.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Detective Branch of Khulna Metropolitan Police (KMP) Taynur Hossain said a police team conducted drive at the residence of Livana Parveen at East Banikhamar of B K main road in the city this noon.

Police arrested Livana Parveen, also a close associate of fugitive ex-KCC Mayor Talukder Abdul Khaleque. 

She was arrested in a case filed with Khulna police station. According to the case, some AL men, including Livana Parveen vandalized a shop “Fashion Zone By Linda” at the Royal intersection in the city and looted valuables, demanding extortion on January 16 last year.

Livana was sent to jail through court this afternoon, said the OC.
