SHERPUR, May 16, 2025 (BSS) - A farmer was killed in a lightning strike in 
Sadar upazila of the district today.

The deceased was Sujon Mia, 23, son of late Akter Ali of Lakshmi-dangri 
Beparibari village under Bhelua union of the Sadar upazila. 

Locals said Sujon Mia was harvesting paddy at a field near his house. He was 
returning home and the lightning stroke injured him. The locals took him to 
Sribardi Upazila Health Complex where the on- duty doctor declared him dead.
