Four held with cannabis in Patharghata

BARGUNA, May 25, 2025 (BSS) - A joint team of Coast Guard and police today arrested four alleged drug peddlers and seized eight kilograms of cannabis from the Kakchira Katakhali Bazar area under Patharghata upazila in Barguna district.

The arrestees were identified as Md Kamruzzaman Babu, 32, Md Rubel Miah, 31, Md Shahin Bapery, 41, and Md Al Amin, 20.

Acting on a tip-off, the joint team conducted a raid in the area and arrested the suspects with the contraband, a member of the operation team said.

The law enforcers also recovered two digital weighing machines along with the cannabis from their possession.
