CHATTOGRAM, May 25, 2025 (BSS) - A three-day land fair began today on the premises of the Chattogram Circuit House with the theme: "Pay land development tax regularly: protect your land."

Deputy Commissioner Farida Khanom presided over the inaugural ceremony, while Divisional Commissioner Dr. Md Ziauddin attended the event as the chief guest.

In his address, Dr. Ziauddin said the recent progress, reforms, and achievements of the Ministry of Land have drawn attention from people across various walks of life. He added that the government is working to ensure that land services become completely harassment-free and citizen-friendly by 2028.

Six land circles under Chattogram Metropolitan City set up individual stalls at the fair to provide on-the-spot land-related services and information.

Earlier in the day, a colourful rally was brought out from the Circuit House premises and paraded through key city streets before concluding at the starting point.

An awareness programme was also held to disseminate information about existing land services among beneficiaries.

Chattogram Range DIG Md Ahsan Habib, Additional Divisional Commissioner Mohammad Nurullah Nuri, Superintendent of Police Md Saiful Islam Santu, and Local Government Director Monowara Begum addressed the event as special guests.

Government officials, journalists, students, and people from different professions attended the inauguration ceremony.

Following the inaugural session, the Divisional Commissioner and Deputy Commissioner, along with the guests, visited various stalls at the fair.
