Wheelchairs distributed among 65 persons with disabilities in Tangail

TANGAIL, May 29, 2025 (BSS) - A total of 65 physically-challenged people were provided with wheelchairs free of cost in the district today, aiming to make them self-reliant by easing their mobility difficulties.

Deputy Commissioner (DC) Sharifa Haque handed over the wheelchairs to the recipients on her office premises as the chief guest.

The programme was arranged by the district administration and the Department of Social Services.

District Disability Affairs Officer Nurul Islam, Consultant (Physiotherapy) Dr. Md. Wahiduzzaman, President of Sadar Upazila Disability Development Council Ruhul Amin Siraji, and President of CRDD Abrar Yousufzai (Tanu), among others, were present.

The chief guest also distributed tricycles to eight people, folding walkers to three, corner chairs to three, and toilet chairs to three at the function.
