One held with gold bars in Satkhira border

 SATKHIRA, May 29, 2025 (BSS) - Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) arrested a smuggler with four gold bars worth about Taka 67 lakh from Tetultala area adjacent to Bhomra Land Port of the district this morning.

     The arrested was identified as Ruhul Amin, a resident of Alipur village of Satkhira Sadar upazila.

     Based on intelligence information that a large consignment of gold was being smuggled from Bangladesh to India through the Tetultala border area, a BGB team of Bhomra BOP conducted a raid there and arrested Ruhul Amin with the gold bars, said Lt. Col. Ashraful Haque, commander of Satkhira BGB-33 Battalion.

     A case was filed with Satkhira Sadar Police Station in this connection.
