Four get life-term for killing man in Faridpur

FARIDPUR, May 29, 2025 (BSS) - A court here today sentenced four people to 
life-term imprisonment for killing an easy bike driver in Sadar upazila of 
the district in 2020.

Additional District and Sessions Judge Second Court Ashok Kumar Dutta 
announced the verdict around 1 pm, said APP of the court Advocate Rakibul 
Islam.

The convicts are Anis Mallik of Khankhanapur village in Rajbari district, Md. 
Shahid Sheikh of Dhekigariya village, Md. Shahjahan Sheikh and Md. Shamim of 
Baruipara village of the district.

During the verdict, convicts Anis Mallik and Shahid Sheikh were present in 
the court.

The court also fined them Taka 20,000 each, in default, to suffer two months 
more in jail. 

According to prosecution, easy bike driver Faruk Talukder, 36, son of the 
late Siddique Talukder of Gopta Manik village under Rajbari Sadar upazila in 
Rajbari district was killed by some unidentified miscreants on March 6, 2020. 

The miscreants rented Faruk's easy bike, saying they were going to Faridpur 
from Rajbari. They brought him to the spot and killed. Later, The miscreants 
took his easy bike and mobile phone and fled the scene.

On the day, his body was recovered from Fatehpur crematorium area of Ishan 
Gopalpur union in Faridpur Sadar upazila.

Later, the deceased's brother Hannan Talukder filed a murder case with 
Kotwali Police Station in this regard.
