BCL activist held with 8 kg of ganja in Ctg

CHATTOGRAM, May 29, 2025 (BSS) - An Army team arrested an activist of the banned Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) Shakib Imam, 24 with eight kilogram of ganja and three mobile phones from Barudkhana area of Dohazari Municipality Sadar in Chandanaish upazila of the district today.

He is the son of Abu Taleb from the aforesaid area. Locals said that before the fall of the Awami League government last year, he was involved in Chhatra League politics. Under the party's influence, he used to peddle various drugs including yaba and ganja in the area.
 
A special team from Chandanaish army camp led by Captain Ibtisam Jawad Diab arrested Shakib in  Barudkhana area of ward no. 2 of Dohazari municipality around 9 am on Thursday.
 
Later, the team recovered eight kilogram of Ganja from his house.  
 
Officer-in charge of Chandanaish Md. Nuruzzaman said that a case was filed against the arrested person.
