College student dies from snakebite in Jhenaidah

JHENAIDAH, July 12, 2025 (BSS) - A college student died from snakebite at 
Brahmapur village under Shailkupa upazila of the district early this morning.

The deceased was identified as Apu Biswas, 19, a student of Shailkupa City 
College and son of Sekender Joarddar of Brahmapur village under Sarutia union 
of the upazila.

A snake bit Apu while he was sleeping in his room. Later, the family members 
took him to a local Ojha. At one point, when his physical condition 
deteriorated, he was admitted to Shailkupa Upazila Health Complex. 

Later, he was shifted to Kushtia Medical College Hospital where he died while 
undergoing treatment.
 
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Shailkupa Police Station Masum Khan confirmed the 
matter.
