Railway introduces security scanner at Cox’s Bazar station

COX’S BAZAR, August 4, 2025 (BSS) – Bangladesh Railway today introduced security scanners at the Cox’s bazar Railway station to ensure passengers security and preventing drug supply and traffickers.

Visiting at the station today, this correspondent found that passengers were going through the security checks along with their baggage. 

Railway authority and security forces are jointly conducting the security check operations.

Cox’s Bazar railway station master Md. Golam Rabbani said, three security scanners have been installed in Dhaka, Chattogram and Cox’s Bazar stations. 

“We started operation here in cox’s Bazar today. Joint forces are helping us in this regard,” he added.

The scanner can detect drug, medicine, firearms and kinds of goods. 

However, passengers are asked to enter at the station 30 minutes before their departure time to avoid suffering.
