KHULNA, Aug 10, 2025 (BSS) - The Khulna Metropolitan Police (KMP) today launched a special campaign to raise awareness about the importance of road usage rules.
As part of the campaign, the KMP held awareness programmes on traffic rules among students at four schools in the city. The schools are Lions School and College, Afil Uddin Secondary School, Government Daulatpur Mohsin Secondary School, and Hope Polytechnic Institute.
At Lions School and College, KMP Commissioner Zulfikar Ali Haider attended the programme and delivered an awareness speech to the students.
An awareness video on obeying traffic laws and road safety was also screened during the event.
Addressing the students as the chief guest, the Police Commissioner said that numerous road accidents occur in our country every day, and a large portion of them happen due to the violation of traffic laws.
Meanwhile, Additional Police Commissioner (Admin & Finance) Abu Raihan Muhammad Saleh conducted awareness sessions at Afil Uddin Secondary School and Government Daulatpur Mohsin Secondary School, and Deputy Police Commissioner (South) Md. Abu Tarek conducted a similar session at Hope Polytechnic Institute.
KMP will gradually conduct such awareness activities in every school.
Besides, the Bangladesh Road Transport Authority (BRTA) Khulna Circle organized a refresher training workshop for professional drivers on skill development and awareness for 2025-2026, under the theme "Follow the law on the road, build a smart Bangladesh" in the Badamtala and Shiromoni areas of the city. KMP Commissioner Md. Zulfikar Ali Haider addressed the event as the chief guest.
Khulna BRTA Director Engineer Ziaur Rahman, Assistant Director (Engineering) Usman Sarwar Alam, among others, were present at the event.
