One more Dengue death, 382 hospitalized in 24 hours

DHAKA, Aug 12, 2025 (BSS) – One person died of dengue while 382 new dengue patients have been admitted to hospitals across the country during the last 24 hours.

With the latest fatality, the death toll from dengue this year has risen to 103. So far in 2025, a total of 24,999 people have been hospitalized with the mosquito-borne disease, said Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) here today.

Dhaka South City Corporation recorded the highest number of dengue patient admission at hospitals with 81 cases.

Barishal division (outside City Corporation) reported 75 cases while Chattogram division (outside City Corporation) 64 cases, Dhaka North City Corporation and Dhaka division (outside City Corporation) each reported 37 cases, Rajshahi division (outside City Corporation) 57 cases, Khulna division (outside City Corporation) 16 cases, Mymensingh division (outside City Corporation) 7 cases, Rangpur division (outside City Corporation) 5 cases and Sylhet division (outside City Corporation) 3 cases.
