RANGPUR, Aug 16, 2025 (BSS) - Students, alumni, and colleagues of Kalagachhi Government Primary School in Gangachara Upazila of the district have set a rare example of love and respect for their outgoing Headmistress.
When the school's recently retired Headmistress Most Nasrin Parveen bid farewell at a function held on the premises of the institution on Thursday afternoon, an emotional atmosphere of respect and affection filled the venue.
Most Nasrin Parveen started her career as an assistant teacher at Gajoghontha Government Primary School under Gangachara Upazila of Rangpur district in 1990.
She had been serving as the Headmistress of Kalagachhi Government Primary School since 1995.
The farewell ceremony was attended by current students, alumni, colleagues, guardians of the school, and officials of the Upazila and district-level Department of Primary Education.
On the occasion, former student Md Mominur Islam Babu said she was a guiding light and an ideal teacher.
"Her integrity, sacrifice, and leadership will be a lifelong inspiration to me and hundreds of her other students," he said.
Fifth-grade student Maruf Hossain said that Nasrin Parveen Madam disciplined every student, and when students did well, she showed them love.
"It is very sad that our respected and beloved Madam is leaving our school and us today," Maruf said, weeping in tribute to his teacher.
Former students Akbar Hossain, Jasim Uddin, and Aklima Khatun said at the event that Nasrin Parveen Madam remained above political, local, or regional factions. She is truly a symbol of an ideal teacher for everyone.
At the farewell reception, Headmistress Nasrin Parveen said, "My students' love is the biggest achievement of my life. I am leaving, but my heart will remain with this school and all of you until my last breath."
Rangpur District Primary Education Officer Md Nazrul Islam was present as the chief guest at the farewell ceremony.
School Managing Committee President and Gangachara Upazila Assistant Education Officer Md Ruhul Amin Pradhan presided over the event.
Gangachara Upazila Primary Education Officer Shayla Jasmine Sayeed and Upazila Primary Education Resource Center Instructor Most Sufia Kamal were present as special guests.
