RAJSHAHI, Aug 16, 2025 (BSS) - A youth died after being run over by a train in the city's Baharampur area this morning.

The deceased was Rakesh, 24, son of Rajesh of ID Baganpara area under Rajpara Police Station in the city. 

The accident occurred when a Rahanpur-bound intercity commuter train hit the youth in Baharampur City Bypass area around 9.15 am when he was crossing the rail track. He died on the spot, said Rajshahi Railway GRP Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Faisal Bin Ahsan.

Later, police recovered the body and sent it to the hospital morgue for autopsy. The body was handed over to the family members, the OC said.
