Nasimul urges Hindu women to cast votes wearing ‘Sankha-Sindur’

JASHORE, Aug 16, 2025 (BSS) - Senior Secretary to the Ministry of Home Affairs Nasimul Ghani today urged the Hindu women to cast their votes in the upcoming general elections wearing vermilions and bangles(Sankha-Sindur).

“Everybody should remain alert about the instigators and the government will definitely resist them,” he said this while addressing a gathering at local town hall maidan here as the chief guest. 

Local Hindu communities organized the rally on the occasion of Sri Sri Janmastomi, the birth day of Lord Sri Krishna.

Chaired by the President of Bangladesh Puja Udjapon Parishad, Jashore district unit Dipangkar Das Raton, the rally was addressed, among others, by BNP Khulna Divisional Organizing Secretary Aninda Islam Amit, Ameer of Jamaat-e-Islami Jashore district unit Prof Golam Rasul, Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Jashore Md Azaharul Islam, Superintendent of Police (SP) Raonak Jahan and Principal of Sri Ram Krishna Mission, Jashore, Gayanoprokashanandaji Maharaj. 

The home secretary said that we could live with peace and prosperity here if we can maintain the unprecedented unity that has been created after the changeover of August 5 last year.

There is no bar in the country in observing any one’s own religion and the government will resist and ensure the trial of those who will try to obstruct in this regard, he added.

Earlier, a culourful procession was brought out from the town hall maidan at about 2:00 pm and paraded the main roads of the town. A large number of Hindu devotees-men-women and children joined the rally.
