DHAKA, Aug 27, 2025 (BSS) - BNP has accepted the release applications of five leaders, including GK Gaus, from the Habiganj convening committee to contest in the district BNP council.

BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Advocate Ruhul Kabir Rizvi said this in a statement issued here today.

The statement said the Habiganj district BNP council will be held on September 6.

In order to contest the council, 1st Joint Convener GK Gaus, Joint Convener Mizanur Rahman Chowdhury, Advocate Haji Nurul Islam, Haji Enamul Haque, and Md Enamul Haque Selim voluntarily requested that their names be omitted from the district BNP convening committee so they can contest in the district council, it added.

Consequently, their applications were accepted, the statement further said.
