2 held with 80,000 yaba pills in Ctg

CHATTOGRAM, Aug 27, 2025 (BSS) - Police today arrested two suspected drug dealers with 80,000 yaba tablets from a covered van in Satkania upazila of Chattogram district.

The arrestees were identified as Mohammad Hasan, 27, of Ershad Nagar area under Tongi police station in Gazipur and Abdul Kuddus, 30, of Dayampur village in Enayetpur union of Chapainawabganj.

Md. Jahedul Islam, officer-in-charge (OC) of Satkania police station, said acting on a tip-off, police set up a checkpoint on the Chattogram-Cox's Bazar highway at Keochia union. Around 6:30 am, law enforcers intercepted the covered van and recovered the yaba pills hidden inside.

The covered van used in the smuggling was seized and a case has been filed under the Narcotics Control Act, the OC added.
