JHENAIDAH, Aug 27, 2025 (BSS) - A college student was killed in a road accident in front of Padmapukur Degree College in Maheshpur upazila of the district this afternoon.
The deceased was Aranya, 19, a second-year student of Padmapukur Degree College and son of Hasan Azgar Ali of Talsar village of the upazila.
The accident took place around 2.30 pm when a power tiller collided head-on with a motorcycle, leaving bike rider Aranya injured, said Sajjadur Rahman, Officer-in-Charge (Investigation) of Maheshpur Police Station.
Aranya was rescued and taken to the Maheshpur Upazila Health Complex. Later he was shifted to Jashore General Hospital where the on-duty doctor declared him dead.
