Two pickle factories fined for unhygienic production in Ctg

CHATTOGRAM, Aug 27, 2025 (BSS) - A mobile court today fined two pickle factories a total of Taka 3 lakh for producing pickles in unhygienic conditions, storing rotten products, using expired labels, and marketing them in the city's Reazuddin Bazar area.

The drive was conducted in the afternoon on Rahmatunnesa Road of Reazuddin Bazar, led by Executive Magistrate of Chattogram District Administration Jannatul Ferdous.

During the operation, M/S. Nasir Brothers was fined Taka 2 lakh, and Ajmir Trading was fined Taka 1 lakh for serious violations of food safety regulations.

Food Safety Officer Muhammad Muntasir Mahmud, Food Safety Inspector Yasinul Haque Chowdhury, and members of the police were also present during the drive.

The magistrate said such drives will continue to ensure food safety and protect public health.
