CHATTOGRAM, Aug 28, 2025 (BSS) - Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) today arrested the prime suspect in the sensational wife murder case under Karnaphuli Police Station.

The accused Md. Aziz Mia, 50, son of Nurul Haque of South Purba Palang Para in Alikadam Police Station, Bandarban district, has been taken into custody.

Senior Assistant Director ARM Mozaffar Hossain of RAB-7 confirmed that the arrest was made during a raid in the Lama Police Station area at 5:30 am this morning.

According to RAB-7, Kulsuma Begum, 40, a garment worker, lived with her family in a rented house in Charpatharghata under Karnaphuli Police Station.

On July 30, after returning from work, she reportedly had a quarrel with her husband, during which Aziz Mia allegedly struck her on the head and body with a brick before fleeing.

Local residents rushed her to Chattogram Medical College Hospital, where she later died from her injuries.

Following the incident, the deceased's eldest daughter filed a murder case against Aziz Mia with Karnaphuli Police Station.
