DHAKA, Aug 29, 2025 (BSS) - Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB)-3 have arrested a top-listed drug dealer from the capital's Kalabagan area.

The arrestee was identified as Biplob Majumder alias Shaon, 28, a fugitive accused in seven drug-related cases and known as a top drug dealer in the city's Gulshan area.

RAB sources said the arrest was made during a drive conducted based on intelligence information and technological surveillance.

Acting on a tip-off, a team of RAB-3's Crime Prevention Company-3 (CPC-3), with assistance from Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP), conducted a raid at a residential flat on Central Road under Kalabagan Police Station around 4:30 pm on Thursday.

Shaon had been residing in the rented apartment for some time to avoid arrest, RAB said.

He attempted to flee during the raid but was detained in public, the elite force added.

The arrestee was later handed over to Gulshan Police Station for further legal action.
