BRTA provides Tk 1.8cr compensation to families of 24 people killed in Ctg

CHATTOGRAM, Aug 29, 2025 (BSS) - Bangladesh Road Transport Authority (BRTA) has given Tk 1.8 crore in compensation to the families of 24 individuals who lost their lives in various road accidents in Chattogram. 
 
BRTA Chairman (Additional Secretary) Abu Momtaz Saad Uddin Ahmed chaired the compensation cheques handover ceremony held at the BRTA divisional office in Notun Para, Hathazari this morning. He distributed the cheques to the families of the victims.
 
During the ceremony, five individuals who were injured in road accidents in the city and district received compensation cheques of Tk 1.3 lakh each, while 19 families of the deceased were given cheque of Tk 5 lakh each.
 
CMP Deputy Commissioner (Traffic-North) Md. Nesar Uddin Ahmed, BRTA Director (Administration) Kamrul Islam, Chattogram Divisional Office Director (Engineering) Md. Masud Alam, Deputy Director (Administration) Masum Billah, Chattogram District Administration Additional District Magistrate Syed Mahbubul Haque, Bangladesh Road Transport Owners Association President Md. Kafil Uddin, and Chattogram District Road Transport Owners Group Secretary General Morshedul Alam Quaderi, were present, among others.
