CHATTOGRAM, Aug 29, 2025 (BSS) - Police have detained another suspect, Md. Tajul Islam, 40, in the much talk murder case of teenager Mahin from Sundarpur Union in Fatikchhari upazila today.
 
Tajul Islam, son of the late Badiul Alam from south Kanchannagar village, Ward No. 5 of Kanchannagar Union, was arrested. Police sources revealed that Tajul Islam's name was mentioned in the statements of three previously arrested suspects in court under Section 164.
 
OC Noor Ahmed stated that Tajul Islam was apprehended while hiding at a relative's house during an ongoing raid. His involvement was implicated in the statements of the three other suspects.
 
The OC also mentioned that a total of four suspects have been arrested in connection with the Mahin murder case. On the morning of August 22, several youths fatally assaulted a 14-year-old named Rihan Mahin on suspicion of theft in Ward No. 5 of Kanchannagar Union in Fatikchhari Upazila. 
 
Two other teenagers injured in the incident are currently receiving critical care at Chattogram Medical College Hospital.
