JHENAIDAH, Sept 3, 2025 (BSS) - The sugarcane plantation programme for 2025-26 season was inaugurated in Kaliganj upazila of the district this morning.
Additional Secretary of the Ministry of Industry Rashidul Islam inaugurated the programme at Maheshwar Chada village under the upazila at 10am today.
Managing Director (MD) of Mobarakganj Sugar Mills ANM Jubayer along with its officials and employees of different sections were also present at the inaugural function.
After the inauguration, Additional Secretary of the Ministry of Industry Rashidul Islam said the government has taken various programmes aiming to motivate the farmers in sugarcane farming.
"We are hopeful that the desired target would be achieved in the sugarcane farming during the new season," he added.
During this time, the ministry official inquired about the whereabouts of the sugarcane farmers and assured them of all the government assistance in sugarcane cultivation.
