GAIBANDHA, Sept 4, 2025 (BSS) - The body of a schoolboy, who went missing while bathing in the Karotoa River in Fokirganj area under Katabari union of Gobindaganj upazila, was recovered on Wednesday evening.
The deceased was identified as Abir Hossain Apple, son of Zahangir Alom of Bogdaho Colony in the upazila.
Gobindaganj Fire Service and Civil Defence Station team leader Atiqur Rahman confirmed the matter.
Sources said Apple went to the river with friends around 3 pm to take a bath. At one stage, he went under the water and did not resurface. His friends and later local residents searched for him but failed. Later, a diver team from Rangpur was called.
The divers conducted a search and recovered his body from the river around 6 pm.
