49 arrested in Tejgaon in 24hrs

DHAKA, April 16, 2026 (BSS) - The Tejgaon Division of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) arrested 49 individuals involved in various crimes during the last 24 hours as part of its ongoing anti-crime drives.

According to a DMP press release, the drives were conducted in different areas on Thursday, leading to the arrest of the suspects. 

The arrested individuals are: Shaheen Molla alias Suman Sheikh (40), Naim Badsha (20), Md. Jahirul Islam Joy (24), Md. Saiful Islam (29), Md. Rafsan Anni Joy (24), Md. Miraj alias Nirob alias Rafsan (22), Md. Hasan (20), Md. Jihad (20), Md. Hasan (18), Md. Khorshed Alam (26), Md. Monir Hossain, Mohammad Raju, Abdul Kaiyum (21), Md. Iman Sheikh (20), Palash Molla (22), Sagar Hossain Shuvo (20), Md. Zafar (33), Md. Yasin Arafat (27), Antar Hasan Sajeeb (28), Miron Khan alias Milon (53), Md. Sabbir (19), Md. Robin (21), Md. Sohel (28), Md. Yusuf (40), Raju Ahmed (38), Md. Anisur Rahman Babu (43), Abdullah Al Mahdi (22), Tahsin Ahmed (19), Md. Khairul Islam (22), Md. Rajijul Islam (25), Tanvir (20), Sohel Sardar (35), Aminul Islam Fardin (20), Md. Shahadat (28), Fahim Molla (19), Md. Zakaria (18), Ashik Miji (22), Md. Polin Farid (18), Md. Rana Hossain, Md. Mostafa Kamal Shawon (29), Md. Maruf Islam (18), Md. Jasim Milon (40), Md. Mahabub (35), Md. Mukul (35), Md. Shafiqul Islam (24), Md. Al Amin (43), Md. Monir Uddin (28), Mst. Ity Begum (28), and Md. Abu Sayed (20).

Police said among the arrestees, four were arrested from Tejgaon Police Station, 21 from Mohammadpur Police Station, 11 from Sher-e-Bangla Nagar Police Station, six from Adabar Police Station, four from Tejgaon Industrial Area Police Station, and three from Hatirjheel Police Station. 

All the arrested persons have been sent to the court.

The DMP said such drives will continue to maintain law and order and curb criminal activities in the capital.
