Two Indian citizens held with arms, ammo at Benapole Land Port

JASHORE, Sept 7, 2025 (BSS) - Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) arrested two Indian citizens with a pistol and 93 bullets from Benapole Land Port today.
 
A team of the BGB intercepted a green chilli-laden truck coming from India at the main gate of the port, 10 yards inside of Bangladesh, and recovered the firearm and bullets after searching the truck around 12.15 pm.

Later, the BGB team arrested Indian national truck driver Gurjit Saluja, 31, son of Jas Pal Saluja of Chandrashekhar ward of Bitul area in Madhya Pradesh, India and his assistant Ramdas Nawadi, 24, son of Malkia Nawadi of the same area, said Jashore BGB (49th Battalion) Commander Lieutenant Colonel Saifullah Siddiqui.
 
He also said that the recovered weapons and the two arrested persons have been handed over to Benapole Port Police Station and a case has been filed in this regard.
