KISHOREGANJ, Sept 23, 2025 (BSS) - The use of mobile phones in schools has been banned for students from classes one to ten in Pakundia upazila of the district.

The decision was taken based on the opinions of a meeting of the upazila administration on Tuesday.

The upazila administration took the decision to improve the quality of education and restore a fair environment.

Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Md. Billal Hossain said, “Our main goal is to ensure that students can focus on their studies regularly and stay free from mobile phone addiction. The use of mobile phones in schools has been banned for students from classes one to ten.”

“Teachers and guardians will have to play a vigilant role to keep this decision effective”, he added.

He further said this initiative has been taken to build a better future for the students.

The heads of educational institutions have been instructed not to allow any student to use mobile phones in school. In addition, parents have been urged to keep an eye on their children so that they do not misuse mobile phones even at home.
Educationists said that if this decision of Pakundia is implemented to prevent the negative trend that is being created among students due to mobile phone use, similar initiatives can be taken in other upazilas and districts.
